Bulkly Is Shutting Down: What Happens Now and What to Use Instead

My link to Publer is an affiliate link. If you sign up through it, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. I recommend Publer because it is the closest replacement for what Bulkly did, and I have said plainly where it falls short. The other tools mentioned on this page earn me nothing.

After more than a decade, Bulkly is shutting down.

The app stops working on August 31, 2026. Nobody will be charged again, and any unused time you have already paid for is being refunded.

Below is everything you need: what happens to your content and your billing, and which tool I would actually move to, including the parts where it is worse than what you had.

Key dates

NowNew signups are closed. Subscriptions are set to end on August 31, so nothing renews past that date.
August 31, 2026The app stops working. Subscriptions end, connected social accounts are disconnected, and your content is no longer accessible.

If you want to keep your content, copy it out before August 31

I want to be straight with you about this one. Bulkly does not have a data export feature, and I am not going to add one in the time that is left. So anything sitting in your library or your queue needs to be copied out of the app by hand before August 31. After that date it is gone.

The practical approach is to open your post library, select what you want to keep, and paste it into a spreadsheet. Keep one row per post. If you have a large evergreen library, set aside an afternoon for it rather than leaving it until the last week of August.

That spreadsheet is also the fastest way into a new tool, which I will come back to below.

One important note: on August 31 the connections between Bulkly and your Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and Bluesky accounts are permanently revoked. Anything still sitting in your queue after that date will not publish. If you have evergreen content running, assume it stops on August 31 and plan around it.

What happens to your billing

Your subscription stays active until August 31, so you keep access to your content right up to the last day. It is set to end on that date, and nothing will renew past it.

If you have paid for time you will not get to use, you are being refunded for the unused portion automatically. You do not need to ask, and there is no form to fill in. This will happen August 31.

Bulkly alternatives: what I actually recommend

I built a scheduling tool for more than a decade, so I have opinions about the others. Here is the honest version, including where it is worse than Bulkly.

The thing to understand first: most social media tools schedule posts. Bulkly did two things that most of them do badly, bulk CSV uploads and evergreen recycling. If those are why you used Bulkly, a generic scheduler will disappoint you.

Where I would go: Publer

Try Publer

This is where I would send Bulkly users, for three reasons.

It has a genuinely free plan, which matters because a lot of you never paid me anything and there is no reason you should have to start paying someone else. Three accounts, one workspace, real scheduling.

Its CSV import is a first-class feature, up to 500 posts per file. This is why the spreadsheet is worth the afternoon. Copy your library into a spreadsheet, save it as CSV, and you can rebuild months of scheduled content in a single upload rather than retyping it post by post.

And it is a healthy, growing, founder-run company. That is not a small thing given what you are reading. Publer is bootstrapped, still shipping features, and publishes a public roadmap. I would not send you somewhere that looks like it might do this to you again in two years.

Where it is worse than Bulkly: its recycling works per-post rather than per-category. In Bulkly you dropped posts into a category and the category recycled. In Publer you set recycling on individual posts. If you ran a big evergreen library through categories, this will feel like a step backwards, and recycling sits on their Business tier rather than the entry plan. It also does not recycle to TikTok or YouTube.

Also worth knowing about

If category-based evergreen recycling was the entire reason you used Bulkly, and Publer’s per-post approach is not going to work for you, RecurPost and SocialBee are both built around the category model the way Bulkly was. RecurPost starts cheaper if you only need a couple of accounts. SocialBee is the closer match on the feature itself, but it has no free plan and its bulk CSV upload is not available on the cheapest tier, so check which plan you actually need before signing up.

Buffer has a free plan and does bulk CSV uploads on every tier, and it is a solid, healthy company. But its post-repeating feature is still in beta and it repeats a single post rather than rotating a library. If you only ever used Bulkly for straightforward scheduling, Buffer is fine. If you used the recycling, you will find it thin.

I would not recommend Hootsuite for anyone reading this. Their entry pricing is roughly twenty times what most of you were paying, there is no free plan, no real evergreen recycling, and they have spent the last year moving deliberately upmarket toward enterprise customers. It is a good product for a company that is not you.

What you will not find anywhere

I went looking, and I could not find another tool at these prices that does per-platform hashtag randomization the way Bulkly did. ContentStudio has it, but its recycling and bulk upload sit on a higher tier than you would expect. If randomized hashtag sets were central to how you worked, I am sorry, that one genuinely does not have a clean replacement.

What each Bulkly feature maps to

What you used in BulklyWhat you get in Publer
Bulk CSV uploadYes, up to 500 posts per file
Evergreen recyclingYes, but per-post rather than per-category, on the Business tier
Drip scheduling and time slotsYes
RSS feed automationYes, unlimited
Multi-workspace for agenciesYes, and stronger than Bulkly’s
Per-platform hashtag randomizationNo
Free plan to land onYes

If you bought Bulkly on AppSumo

You backed this in 2021 and it ran for five years. I know that is not forever, and I know “lifetime” reads differently when the lifetime ends.

For what it is worth, five years is longer than most lifetime deals last, and I would rather tell you this now, with a month of notice, than have the app quietly stop working one morning. Everything above applies to you, and the part that matters most is copying your content out before August 31.

Why

The honest answer is that the market moved and I did not move with it.

Social scheduling got crowded, the tools that are winning are shipping AI features at a pace that a one-person operation cannot match, and I have spent the last couple of years putting my time into other work rather than into Bulkly. Revenue reflected that. At some point continuing to run a product I was not improving stopped being fair to the people paying for it.

I would rather close it properly, with notice, refunds, and an honest recommendation, than let it quietly rot.

Thank you

More than 5 million posts went out through Bulkly. Every one of them was somebody’s business, somebody’s blog, somebody’s side project. Thank you for trusting a small tool with that.

If you have a question about your account or your billing, email me and I will answer it personally through October.
