This is a term used to describe the act of constantly observing a person, company, location, brand, etc, on social media with very little interaction, if any at all, and without reacting to or commenting on any of their posts or shared content. Although the term is associated with negative connotations, “creeping” isn’t necessarily a bad thing period it can be a practice used or screening someone prior to dating them, before hiring a new employee, to check out a potential babysitter, etc. There is of course always the other side of the coin, when creeping is used to spy on someone for the wrong reasons. This can be largely avoided by making sure that your social media content is protected by implementing all of the most stringent privacy settings available.
