What is Geotag?

Geotag is an abbreviation of Geographic tagging, which refers to the process of including geographical information in your online content aiming at identifying the actual location from where the material was created. It is a method for determining the geography of where something has been put on the Internet. The geotagging of a location may need the addition of a place name to the location name, such as an attraction or a business, in addition to the geotagging of latitude and longitude coordinates.
