What is Archiving?

In social media, archiving refers to creating a virtual archive or history of a page’s posts, private messages, post interactions, and beyond. Archiving essentially creates a record of all activity that occurs on a social media page. Archives can be useful as evidence in investigations or proof of compliance in particular industries. Archived data is typically stored in a place separate from the social media platform; it’s held as a historical record for long-term retention.
